Fire Systems (Detection & Suppression)

In data centers, fire safety is ensured through the integrated operation of early detection, accurate scenario management, and equipment-friendly suppression technologies. ERFA Information Technologies combines addressable detection panels, high-sensitivity aspiration (VESDA) solutions, and gas/mist suppression systems into a single operational architecture, guaranteeing both personnel safety and continuity of IT infrastructure.

Detection Technology:

Addressable smoke/heat detectors and aspiration (VESDA)

Suppression Options:

Equipment-friendly, residue-free systems using Novec 1230 and FM-200 gases

Scenario Management:

Two-stage alarm, EPO, HVAC/damper integration

Room Sealing:

Door fan test, hold time, and pressure relief calculations

Monitoring & Reporting:

Cylinder pressure/weight tracking, event logging

Compliance:

EN 54, NFPA 72, EN 15004 / NFPA 2001 scenario compliance

In the detection layer, addressable detectors placed under raised floors, above racks, and in ceiling voids work together with aspiration piping that captures micro smoke particles at an early stage. A double-knock scenario filters false alarms; in a real event, first warning and evacuation occur, followed by the suppression sequence. HVAC and pressure relief louvers are synchronized to maintain gas distribution and hold time.

"Correct detection triggers the right suppression at the right time, preserving business continuity."

In the suppression layer, equipment-friendly clean gases and inert gas solutions are designed considering acoustic effects and nozzle placement. Cylinder banks, pressure reducers, and piping balancing ensure uniform distribution in the room. Alternatively, water mist or pre-action sprinklers are evaluated for adjacent areas and support spaces. All systems are tested before commissioning with hydraulic/flow calculations, functional tests, and room sealing verification; event logs and maintenance plans are monitored via DCIM/BMS to ensure continuity.
